James Corden has put himself forward to play the role of Niall Horan in the future.

The actor has taken on the part of Britain's Got Talent opera singer Paul Potts in new flick One Chance and it seems the One Direction man could be his next target.

Speaking whilst promoting his new film, Corden joked that plans are already afoot with regards to a biopic of the 'Kiss You' lads.

He quipped: "I think I could play Niall. We're already in talks."

The comic, who is credited with creating One Direction's 'Best Song Ever' video, added: "I'm going to play Niall, David Walliams is going to play Harry Styles...and Olly Murs is going to play Louis."

However, Corden has competition for the role of Horan, with Harry Potter actor Tom Felton previously registering his interest in any possible role.

One Direction's only foray into film so far meanwhile came in the shape of the documentary style This Is Us, which hit screens earlier this year.
