George Shelley, of Union J fame, has spoken out about his supposed relationship with Disney starlet Selena Gomez and admitted that it's not what the press have been making out. 

They have been romantically linked throughout the year, but Shelley has now revealed that "nothing happened" between them and they're just friends:

"Selena's one of the classiest girls I've ever met and I love class in girls. So... yeah! She's a superstar, she's very busy and we're just starting out. It's a very tough situation. But she's very lovely..."

"Nothing [happened]! We just chatted - all of us were there. It was lovely of her to invite us back to her place, but it was a private thing. We were a bit shocked it got into the papers. It highlighted the fact that you don't know who to trust."

His bandmate Josh Cuthbert shed some light on the situation, adding: "I haven't seen enough of them together. I don't even think you can mention the 'c word' around them yet. Justin Bieber's Mr Cool - he's the dog's b******s - so George has some big boots to fill."
