Miley Cyrus records Beatles cover with The Flaming Lips

Miley Cyrus has continued her working relationship with The Flaming Lips by recording a Beatles cover with them.

The pop singer and the indie-rockers have forged an unlikely partnership in recent times, culminating in a live duet at one of Cyrus's Bangerz tour dates.

They have now followed this up by hitting the studio to record a version of the Beatles' 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds'.

Flaming Lips singer Wayne Coyne posted on Twitter on Sunday (March 16):

"Miley in the studio vomiting diamonds while singing Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds!! If you're a Beatles and John Lennon freak you gonna love love love this track!! Got Andrew from MGMT too!!!! #lovemoneyparty#lsd #beatles #musicthatishardtotwerkto #mileycyrus#freaks #flaminglips #theflaminglips #mgmt #liptattoo#fuckyeah #tulsa."

The singer later posted a picture of his nails with snazzy covers on them - including a photo of Cyrus's face.

He said: "Got nails did!!!!! #freaks #flaminglips #theflaminglips#lovemoneyparty #mgmt #lsd #radnailart."

The Flaming Lips meanwhile have previously forayed into pop by recording the track 2012 with Kesha.
