Former Disney starlet Miley Cyrus has told her fans that one of her pet dogs has passed away.

Writing on her official Twitter page earlier this afternoon (December 11) the singer and actress explained that she's devastated by the loss of her "sweet baby girl" Lila (shown below), who she only took home last year:

"Can't think of one good reason to get out of bed today.... for everyone asking... I have never been so hurt in my life. My heart has never been so broken..... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away."

'Lila Will Be Forever In Our Hearts' is currently in the Top 10 trending topics list worldwide on the social networking site and Cyrus' fans have been sending her their love.

Back on October 3, Cyrus told her followers that Lila had been taken to "the hospital" although the adorable dog appeared to have recovered: "please pray for my baby girl Lila... She is in the hospital. I am so heart broken. Please send out vibes for her to not be afraid & to heal."
