The pair feature in a photo taken by producer Mike WiLL Made It, who also appears in the image.

It is unclear exactly what any potential recording would be for, but Mike WiLL Made It suggested on Twitter that it could be for Cyrus' upcoming new album 'Bangerz'.

The idea of Cyrus and Minaj teaming up was greeted with an enthusiastic reception by fans, with one Instagram user commenting:
