'We Can't Stop' superstar Miley Cyrus has taken to her official Twitter page this evening (August 14) to share some snapshots from a new photoshoot created by Terry Richardson.

She revealed her excitement at the shoot and wrote: "See me & @Terry_World f**k s**t up on http://terrysdiary.com & get a little couture classy for @harpersbazaarus. Terry Motha F**kin' Richardson."

The pictures (shown below) are much edgier than her usual style and she can be seen twerking, smoking, grabbing her crotch suggestively, and snarling into the camera while modelling an array of sports clothing from a tight white crop top to tiny black boxing shorts.

Cyrus, meanwhile, has been nominated in a new MTV VMAs category, called Best Song of the Summer, that allows fans to vote using social media. She received the nod for her new single, 'We Can't Stop' and fans can vote through Twitter, Instagram or Vine by using the appropriate hashtags: #votemiley, #votedaftpunk, #voteselena, #voteonedirection, #votethicke or #votecalvinandellie.
