Watch Miley Cyrus’ Debut Performance of “Flowers”

Global pop star Miley Cyrus celebrated her 31st birthday by giving her first live performance of “Flowers” (see below), nearly 10 months after it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Though the single came out at the start of this year, the only time Cyrus has sung it in real-time is for the Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions) concert special. The award-winning singer-songwriter gave an intimate, invite-only performance at Los Angeles’ iconic Chateau Marmont hotel tonight (Wednesday, Nov. 22) for close family and friends. She even shared some of the special moments with her fans via social media posts, and birthday wishes started pouring in the comment section soon after.

Taking the stage, Cyrus also performed a new song during the set. While the track does not yet have a title, the lyrics included: “Don’t know if it’s ever gonna stop/ I wouldn’t mind if it don’t/ Don’t leave me high/ Don’t let me down/ ‘Cause I want you more.”

Cyrus revealed back in May that she doesn't currently have any interest in touring. “I can’t,” she told British Vogue, calling stadium and arena performances “isolating” and “not natural.” “Not only ‘can’t’, because ‘can’t’ is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfilment other than my own?”

She followed up her comments with a message posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on May 24, telling her fans she loves them despite not hitting the road. “Even if I don’t see them face to face every night at a concert, my fans are felt deeply in my heart,” she wrote. “This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans & everything to do with I simply don’t want to get ready in a locker room, which is the reality of life on the road.”
