Morrissey will never crowd fund a creative project: 'It's desperate and insulting'

'Meat Is Murder' singer Morrissey has revealed that he will never use crowdsourcing to bankroll the recording of an album because it looks tacky.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper El Pais, the star confessed that he would never put out a public call online to try and raise cash online for a project:

"It is a desperate measure, and insulting to your audience. We have already provided sufficient amounts of money. What is the next thing you're going to ask?... (Touring is) the only option left (and) luckily (for) me (it) is very good and exciting."

"The only unpleasant part of this (is) that whenever a concert is cancelled the story captures attention; but if the concert took place, it would hardly be mentioned. Many people enjoy writing negative things about me. Which is fine with me. Let them go if it makes them happy."
