Olly Murs recovering from throat problems: 'I'm currently on steroids, but I'm getting there'

'Troublemaker' heartthrob Olly Murs was a guest on this morning's (August 25) 'Sunday Brunch' and opened up about his career to date.

Speaking to host Tim Lovejoy, the superstar explained that he's currently recovering from a throat inflammation: "I'm on some steriods at the moment to take the inflammation down. I've done a lot of singing this year so it might just be wear and tear. [...] The voice takes a lot of warming up and training to get it to where it is. Air conditioning is the worst, it can really dry it out and you get bacterial infections."

Lovejoy also tried to tempt Murs with a little dish of olives after learning that he really doesn't like them, but he couldn't be pursuaded and admitted: "I don't like the texture of olives. I don't know where I was, maybe I was in an Italian restaurant. There was the nut or the pip in it... oh, the stone! I don't like the texture of it and thought I might choke on it!"

The former 'X Factor' finalist confessed that he's excited about his career right now because bands like One Direction are paving the way for other British artists to launch international platforms: "One Direction and what they've achieved over there (America)! It's really opened the market for us over there. I'm not jealous, I'm just amazed at how big they are. What they're doing for us is great. They're just great guys, what you see is what you get with them."

Murs painted a picture for 'Sunday Brunch' and shared a snapshot of it via his official Twitter page (shown above left): "Here it my masterpiece @SundayBrunchC4 I've called 'Tim Lovejoy Loving Life!' What would you give it out of 10??"
