Ozzy Osbourne spoke warmly of his wife Sharon as the pair launched a new metal festival.

The singer confirmed at a press conference in Hollywood on Thursday (May 12) that his Ozzfest event is teaming up with Slipknot's KnotFest for one weekend in September.

Ozzfest Meets Knotfest will take place on September 24/25 San Manuel Amphitheater and Festival Grounds in San Bernardino, California.

Black Sabbath and Slipknot will headline, with the likes of Slayer, Opeth and Disturbed also on the bill.

Wife and manager Sharon Osbourne also attended the press event despite media reports stating that the couple had split after over 30 years of marriage.

Speaking to ET Online at the conference, Ozzy Osbourne praised his wife Sharon by saying:

"My wife did [the merger of the festivals].

"She's my right arm. She's everything for me. She's great."

Media at the event were asked not to question the duo about their personal lives.

Sharon confirmed their split recently on The Talk, saying: "I'm not with him, but I speak to him."
