Taylor Swift's '1989' lords US albums chart for ninth week

Taylor Swift has spent another week at the top of the US albums chart.

The singer's latest effort '1989' has now enjoyed nine non-consecutive weeks at the summit of the Billboard 200.

It shifted 155,000 units over the last week, which is down 36% on the previous seven days.

However, '1989' is expected to be usurped by Meghan Trainor's new entry 'Title' next week.

At No.2 on the US albums chart meanwhile is Ed Sheeran's 'x', whilst Nicki Minaj's 'The Pinkprint' drops one place at No.3.

Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour' stays put at No.4 and duo Rae Sremmurd are a new entry at No.5 with 'SremmLife'.
