“The record married luscious melodies a la The Smiths with a more melancholic vibe, a quality hard wired in lead singer’s Randy Bergida vocals.” - The Deli NY

“Do you like the idea of Vampire Weekend but find the real thing impossibly insipid? If so, The Letter Yellow are for you.” - New York Music Daily

For Immediate Release - Black Panda PR - New York, NY - June 26, 2015 - The Letter Yellow previews their first track “Summer in the City” from their upcoming sophomore release Watercolor Overcast on Impose. The track features guest vocals from Denitia Odigie of Denitia and Sene.  Watercolor Overcast is available exclusively on vinyl at this time and will be available for sale in digital stores worldwide beginning July 24. They will be in residence at the Living Room every Monday at 9:00 PM beginning on July 27 through August 18.

Watercolor Overcast follows their soulful, groovy, 2012 debut Walking Down the Streets.

The Letter Yellow and engineer/co-producer Nolan Thies together committed to recording Watercolor Overcast completely analog from start to finish. They went in to local studio The Bunker with 10 new songs, a freer sound, a beloved Neve console, and a 24-track tape machine. Recording to tape means no computers, no fixing later. Thies mixed and Alex DeTurk mastered at Strange Weather and Masterdisk.
