Alexandra Burke doesn't regret X Factor judging role

Alexandra Burke has revealed that she has no regrets about standing in as a guest judge on last year’s series of The X Factor.

The 2008 winner filled in for Kelly Rowland during the Week Four Halloween special after the former Destiny’s Child star fell ill, but was widely mocked for her ‘OK.com’ comments by both the viewing public and celebrities including Declan Donnelly and Gary Barlow.

However, the 23-year-old told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine: "That's showbiz, and I don't regret it for a second. I don't care what Gary [Barlow] said afterwards - during the show he was telling me I was being brilliant.”

"And Louis [Walsh] was egging me on to keep going. I was being put on a seat next to Gary Barlow for God's sake. He's hot. I told him I fancied him."

The 'Bad Boys' hit-maker also revealed that she has learned to handle criticism a lot better since her talent show victory: "I was totally obsessed. I would only take notice of the bad things. I'd browse forums and look at these awful things that were written.

"But you have to grow a thick skin if you want to survive in this business. Saying that, I've had to deal with a lot of stuff this year. It's been a learning curve - I've had to prove myself to a new record company. Some things didn't turn out how I wanted them, but I guess I don't have a right to moan."

Burke releases her comeback single, ‘Elephant,’ on March 11th. Watch a compilation of Alexandra's judging skills on The X-Factor below:
