Nadiya Hussain will be fronting two new cookery shows on BBC One and BBC Two.
In a new documentary series for BBC One, Nadiya will be travelling to North America to discover how migrants are influencing modern American cuisine, and on BBC Two Nadiya returns to what she loves best; baking her favourite treats.

Nadiya’s American Melting Pot
America is a land of immigrants, welcoming over a million new arrivals every year. Nadiya Hussain will travel to two of the most diverse vibrant hubs in modern North America - California and Louisiana - to find out how generations of migrants are changing the national menu. Nadiya’s American Melting Pot will be a personal journey as she meets the families keeping the traditions of their homelands alive through the food - just like Nadiya’s family did when they moved to Britain.

From Southern Vietnamese crawfish boils to colourful Californian Latino bakeries, Nadiya will be getting to grips with different food cultures and immersing herself with the locals. She’ll help out in the family businesses and share in joyful family celebrations. She’ll also be cooking for people she meets, inspired by their delicious native cuisine: from the Central American night markets of LA to catfishing in the Louisiana swamps Nadiya will take us on her most delicious food journey yet.

California is home to one of the most diverse populations in America. Nadiya will travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco to meet people who are passionate about Latin, Asian and Middle Eastern food culture they’re bringing to America. Nadiya is invited to a Mexican Quinceanera an extravagant fiesta celebrating a girl’s 15th birthday, she cooks for an all-female daredevil rodeo riding team and she makes handmade fortune cookies with a grandma in one of the last remaining workshops in San Francisco's Chinatown.

In New Orleans Nadiya meets people keeping old Creole traditions alive and travels to Cajun country where she spends time with a family fishing in the Louisiana swamps. Nadiya bakes King Cakes to kick off carnival season, she meets a family grocer bringing food and hope to areas previously destroyed by hurricane Katrina in the Lower 9th Ward and cooks up her a colourful crayfish boil with Vietnamese restauranteurs who are fusing the flavours of their homeland with the finest Louisiana seafood resulting in a dish that blows Nadiya’s mind.

Nadiya Hussain says: “I love meeting people who are as passionate as I am about sharing the food of their homelands. I learnt so much about the amazing ways that cultures mix in America to create exciting twists on delicious local delicacies. I can’t wait to share my American adventure!”

Beejal Patel, Commissioning Editor, says: “Nadiya is such a treat to travel with. In her latest journey she meets fascinating people discovering how food connects cultures in the culinary melting pot of America whilst rolling up her sleeves and creating delicious dishes with a unique Nadiya twist.”
