About Company

Television

The BBC runs ten national TV services providing entertainment, news, current affairs and arts coverage for the whole of the UK.

Our output is available via analogue and digital TV, live online via channel websites and as video-on-demand via the BBC iPlayer

Online

The BBC's online service includes news, sport, weather, CBBC and BBC iPlayer.

BBC Online brings together the BBC's broad portfolio of websites including BBC News, Sport, & Weather, our children’s sites CBBC and CBeebies, knowledge and learning as well as access to radio and TV programmes on-demand through BBC iPlayer.

Each website is being developed for audiences to access on a variety of internet-connected devices including tablets, smartphones and connected TVs – as well as computers.

BBC Online is also the place where audiences can access the BBC’s vast archive of radio and television programmes, which are being made available digitally and curated through BBC iPlayer.

The BBC’s other interactive service, BBC Red Button currently provides audiences access to content directly related to what’s being watched on TV such as alternative tennis matches at Wimbledon, news headlines from the BBC News channel, or interactive games from CBeebies.

The BBC is developing this service to provide audiences with simple access to even more content from BBC Online, on the latest internet-connected TVs.
