What makes a great home celebrity cook?

Keeping it simple, simple delicious food.

What advice would you give the celebrity home cooks to impress you and the other judges?

Don’t try and be too clever or overcomplicate things. Cook what you know.

What can viewers get excited to see in this brand new series?

The celebrities and their ideas are fun, I was impressed by their level of knowledge and cooking skill. Particularly how they put their menu and dishes together.

We’ve all been cooking more at home over the last 12 months, what have you been cooking that’s been a hit?

Lots and lots of vegetables. Luckily the first lockdown was in the height of summer, so a huge choice of vegetables with lots of summer salads.

How do you think the last 12 months has changed home cooking?

People are spending more time sitting together and spending time together. Home cooking isn’t just about the food - it’s about taking the time to chat and be together.

What has been the best lockdown cookery outcome for you?

Getting stuff from colleagues, friends and neighbours, recipes, ingredients and tips. Sharing knowledge between restaurants and neighbours. Cooking for each other, having the time to share food and them cooking for us.

Give us a dish that would win the Angela household over?

A proper roast lunch.

If you were made of three ingredients, what would they be?

Garlic, Rosemary and Olive Oil.

Do you think the last 12 months have altered the nation’s relationship with food?

Yes, hopefully people thought more about going local, using local shops and supporting stores and butchers rather than supermarkets. Supermarkets are good and have a purpose, but it is good to support the local high street more than ever.

You’ve only got one meal to eat for the rest of your life, what is it?

Anolini Embrodo, a traditional dish of filled pasta parcles in a clear chicken broth.
