First-look image has been released from Boiling Point, the forthcoming BBC drama series that will follow on from the hugely successful, multi award-winning feature film of the same name. Boiling Point is made by Ascendant Fox and Matriarch Productions, with Made Up Productions, for the BBC and will air later this year on BBC One and Player.

Eight months after her mentor Andy Jones (Stephen Graham) suffered a heart attack, head chef Carly (Vinette Robinson) is battling to forge a name for new Dalston restaurant Point North alongside her old kitchen crew. We follow the team as the stresses of keeping the restaurant running bear down on them amidst a hospitality industry in crisis. With the pressure to draw in new, hungry customers and the financial squeeze to keep the business profitable, the team must find a way to manage their complicated personal lives whilst creating quality food day in, day out.

When it was first released as a film in 2021, Boiling Point was met with huge critical acclaim and was nominated worldwide for over 30 awards in multiple categories, including four Bafta nominations and 11 Bifa nominations, delivering four Bifa wins, two National Film Awards and four Taormina Film Festival Awards.

The 4x60’ series is written and exec produced by James Cummings. Directed and exec produced by Philip Barantini (Malpractice) who helms the first two episodes with Mounia Akl (Costa Brava, Lebanon) directing episodes three and four. The executive producers are Hester Ruoff and Bart Ruspoli for Ascendant Fox, Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham for Matriarch Productions, Philip Barantini for Made Up Productions with Samantha Beddoe, and Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC. The series producer is Graham Drover. International distribution is handled by BBC Studios.
