As part of a wider set of programming raising awareness of scams, Rav Wilding and Nick Stapleton are joined once again for the next instalment of the BAFTA-nominated show.

As the UK is increasingly bombarded with scam emails, texts and calls, the team will once again fight back against the multi-billion pound industry. Based again at the Scam Interceptors HQ in Glasgow, they continue to utilise their sophisticated undercover strategies to stop victims handing over their hard earned cash. In real time, YouTube sensation Jim Browning will employ his tech skills hack his way into scam centres enabling the team to intercept the scammers before the crime is committed.

The BBC One Daytime series will also follow suit from the previous instalment in tracking down the identities of the perpetrators of these industrial-scale scams. After their identities are exposed, the show will ‘doorstep’ some of the worst cyber-criminals, forcing them to come face to face with the crimes they’ve committed as the team hold them to account.

The series will also take deep dives into the personal stories of those directly affected by these scams, providing a timely reminder of their impact as the cost of living crisis continues to put increased pressure on people’s finances.

Presenter Rav Wilding comments: “It’s fantastic to be back carrying out this work. With increased pressure on people’s finances, this latest instalment of Scam Interceptors comes at exactly the right time. We continue to hold high-profile call centre criminals to account and shed light on the impact of these industrial-scale scams on vulnerable victims”.

Rachel Platt, Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime, says: “As the cost of living continues to bite, it’s now more important than ever that unscrupulous scammers are held to account. This fresh instalment of Scam Interceptors is part of a broader offering by the BBC to raise awareness of this multi-billion pound criminal industry and will continue to help educate our audiences about both the sophisticated and the simple techniques these criminals use to take our cash.”

Scam Interceptors will air weekdays at 10:00am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 23 October, with all 10 episodes dropping on iPlayer on the same day.

This series of Scam Interceptors was commissioned for BBC One by Rob Unsworth , Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak commissioning. The Commissioning editor is Rachel Platt, The series is produced by Rowland Stone (Executive Producer) and Sherry Knight (Series Producer) for BBC Studios Documentary Unit.
