BBC Film-backed features Rye Lane, Scrapper & The Old Oak amongst BAFTA Film Award nominations 2024

Five films backed by BBC Film have been nominated for the prestigious BAFTA Film Awards, with winners to be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday 18 February.

Five films backed by BBC Film have been nominated for the prestigious BAFTA Film Awards, with winners to be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday 18 February.

The Outstanding British Film category includes three BBC Film-backed titles: Raine Allen-Miller’s RYE LANE; Charlotte Regan’s SCRAPPER; and, Ken Loach’s THE OLD OAK. The South London-set rom-com RYE LANE also garnered a Leading Actress nomination for Vivian Oparah. Two BBC Film-backed shorts, FESTIVAL OF SLAPS and SUCH A LOVELY DAY, were also nominated in the British Short Film category.

Rye Lane - 2 nominations:

• Outstanding British Film (Raine Allen-Miller, Yvonne Isimeme Ibazebo, Damian Jones, Nathan Bryon, Tom Melia)
• Leading Actress (Vivian Oparah)

Scrapper - 1 nomination:

• Outstanding British Film (Charlotte Regan, Theo Barrowclough)

The Old Oak - 1 nomination:

• Outstanding British Film (Ken Loach, Rebecca O'Brien, Paul Laverty)

Festival of Slaps (short) - 1 nomination:

• British Short Film (Abdou Cissé, Cheri Darbon, George Telfer)

Such A Lovely Day (short) - 1 nomination:

• British Short Film (Simon Woods, Polly Stokes, Emma Norton, Kate Phibbs)
