Huge tackles, electric atmospheres and the biggest stars - the BBC is showing live match coverage, comprehensive highlights and expert analysis throughout the Men’s Six Nations from legends of the game.

The Men’s Six Nations will return to BBC television, radio and online from Saturday 3 February.

• Gabby Logan to present live match coverage on BBC One and BBC iPlayer

• Expert punditry and match analysis from Rugby Union legends including Sam Warburton, Martin Johnson, John Barclay, Jonathan Davies, Chris Paterson and Dylan Hartley

• Ugo Monye returns to present Six Nations Rugby Special on BBC Two, featuring in-depth analysis of the weekend matches

• Nigel Owens to provide refereeing analysis with Sonja McLaughlan and Lee McKenzie sharing pitch-side reporting duties

• Live commentary from Andrew Cotter, plus highlights commentary from Sara Orchard, Gareth Rhys Owen and Alastair Eykyn

• Live commentary of all 15 matches on BBC Sounds across BBC Radio 5 Live and 5 Sports Extra and the Rugby Union Daily podcast will launch on Monday 29 January

• Live coverage of every match of the U20s Six Nations will available on BBC iPlayer

BBC coverage of the Six Nations begins on Saturday 3 February, with Gabby Logan presenting Wales v Scotland live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The Six Nations has a unique fire and competitiveness, and I can’t wait for the games to begin, every year special storylines emerge, and I can’t wait to see who is going to light up this year’s tournament.”

The BBC’s Six Nations Line Up

Gabby Logan will lead live coverage across TV and BBC iPlayer and will be joined by two-time British and Irish Lions captain, Sam Warburton, England’s 2003 World Cup winning captain, Martin Johnson, former Scotland captain, John Barclay, Wales legend, Jonathan Davies, and Scotland’s record-points holder, Chris Paterson, who make up the punditry and co-commentary team. England’s 2016 Grand Slam winning captain Dylan Hartley, former France international Ben Kayser and Italian great Sergio Parisse, will also feature across BBC Sport’s coverage of the Six Nations.

Leading TV commentary will be Andrew Cotter, with Gareth Rhys Owen, Alastair Eykyn and Sara Orchard providing highlights commentary. For TV and iPlayer, refereeing legend Nigel Owens will be on hand to provide unparalleled expert insight and analysis on all the key officiating decisions. Pitch-side reporters Sonja McLaughlan and Lee McKenzie will bring viewers all the big-name interviews and updates from the touchline.

The return of Six Nations Rugby Special, hosted by former England and British and Irish Lions winger Ugo Monye, will be shown on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer every Sunday on match weeks throughout the tournament.

Live coverage of all 15 matches will be available on BBC Sounds across BBC Radio 5 Live and 5 Sports Extra. The commentary team includes World Cup winners Matt Dawson, Paul Grayson and Kat Merchant along with Johnnie Beattie, Andy Nicol, Philippa Tuttiett and James Hook who will provide insights, anecdotes, and unparalleled expertise. Radio commentary begins for the opening match of the tournament on Friday 2 February with Sonja McLaughlan hosting coverage of France v Ireland in Marseilles from 7pm on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Live Match Coverage

The BBC will show live Six Nations coverage every match week throughout the tournament on TV and BBC iPlayer, while live commentary will be available for every match on BBC Sounds, BBC Radio 5 Live and 5 Sports Extra.

The BBC’s live television coverage kicks off from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff for Wales v Scotland on Saturday 3 February. Other live matches shown on BBC television include Scotland v England (24 February) and Wales v France (March 10).

Whether you’re watching at home or on the move, BBC Sport and BBC iPlayer will bring live video streaming of BBC Sport’s games and live audio commentary on BBC Sounds so fans can follow the drama anywhere, across any device.

Additional Programming

Ugo Monye returns to host Six Nations Rugby Special. Starting on Sunday 4 February he will be introducing the highlights and in-depth analysis from all Six Nations matches every Sunday during each round of the tournament.

The hugely popular Rugby Union Daily podcast will also launch on Monday 29 January with new episodes every day during match weeks throughout the tournament. Chris Jones, Ugo Monye and Sara Orchard will host, with a star-studded ensemble of guests throughout the Six Nations and regular appearances from Chris Ashton, Sam Warburton, Tommy Bowe. Special episodes of the Rugby Union Daily podcast include Gregor Townsend picking his favourite Scotland v England clashes and Sam Warburton taking us through his most memorable Wales v England matches.

BBC Wales

Live commentary of all of Wales’ matches during the Six Nations will be on both BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru, as well as live coverage of Wales’ games against Scotland, France and Italy on BBC One Wales.

On BBC Radio Wales, Ken Owens will join Wynne every Friday before each Wales game to answer audience questions in “Ask Ken.” Lucy Owen will be reflecting the unique atmosphere of a Cardiff matchday on her new Saturday afternoon programme hearing fan thoughts and predictions from supporters outside the stadium.

On BBC Sounds, The Scrum V Podcast hosted by Gareth Rhys Owen and Lauren Jenkins will have all the Six Nations news and views throughout every week of the tournament.

Starting on Friday 2 February BBC One Wales and BBC One, Gabby Logan and Gareth Thomas return with the sixth series of Six Nations Sin Bin, aimed to enthuse, excite and build up the hype ahead of each Six Nations weekend with some amazing celebrity guests.

There will also be a special preview programme to this year’s tournament with Sarra Elgan with Sarra Elgan’s Six Nations Preview airing on BBC One Wales on Thursday 1 February and BBC One on Saturday 3 February. Sarra will be speaking to those closest to the action from each side - including Warren Gatland, Ireland’s head coach Andy Farrell, France coach Shaun Edwards, England’s Ellis Genge and Italy’s Stephen Varney - to find out all the key stories going into the games, as well as the challenges they face.

The Sunday after each game, there will be a Scrum V Six Nations Special on BBC Two Wales looking back at Wales’ games as well as the other matches that weekend, presented by Lauren Jenkins. There will be the usual appearances from rugby legends, as well as expert analysis from Sean Holley.

Viewers can follow all the latest news from the Wales camp via the BBC Sport app and BBC Sport website by following ‘Wales Sport’.

In the Welsh language, BBC Radio Cymru will have live coverage of every Wales game and Dros Frecwast will be building up to all the games as well as looking back at previous games.

BBC Scotland

All Scotland games will have live commentary on BBC Radio Scotland and there will be live match reports on the BBC Sport Scotland website. The latest news and analysis will be available on the BBC Scotland Rugby podcast on BBC Sounds.

BBC Northern Ireland

BBC Sport Northern Ireland will have live commentary of all of Ireland’s games in the Six Nations on BBC Sounds. Gavin Andrews will introduce the coverage via BBC Radio Ulster starting with the first round of matches starting on Friday 2 February with France v Ireland live from Marseilles.

Jim Neilly will be on commentary alongside ex-Ireland centre Darren Cave with Claire McLaughlin and Chris Henry providing analysis over the course of this year’s tournament.
