How does it feel to be the new host of Glow Up?
It’s such a surreal feeling as it’s a show I’ve loved from the beginning! It’s crazy to me in so many levels from being a guest on season 1 to working alongside Val and Dominic throughout my career as a model, it’s like I was meant to be here.

As a self-confessed fan of the show, how was it to see the challenges and MUAs in action in person?

They’re all so talented and being able to watch them grow not only as artists but as people over the period of filming was really inspiring. This season’s talent is truly next level and they’re genuinely the nicest bunch of people I know.

What was it like to work with Val and Dominic for the first time?

I’ve actually worked with both of them in the earlier years of my career! When I was just starting out as a Mac demo model with Dominic as well as backstage at shows and for the first time with Val for a Moschino show nearly ten years ago! So it’s been great to get to know them on a different level through Glow Up and I have so much love for the both of them.

Without giving too much away, what were your standout moments of the series?

I think this season is definitely the biggest yet! The guest judges and assignments are really top level. I loved episode 1 so much as I’m such a fan of the professional assignment so to be able to walk on the set of Brigerton was really something.

What advice would you give to any aspiring make-up artists or models like yourself who want to breakthrough into the industry?

Be true to yourself and who you are and don’t let anyone try and take away the essence of what makes you, you.

What can viewers expect when they tune into the series?

Lots of talent, tears and top tier looks from me!

About

Get ready to witness the ultimate make-up showdown as Glow Up returns for its fifth series, welcoming brand-new host, Supermodel Leomie Anderson. Each week, 10 of the most talented aspiring make-up artists will be judged on their creative skills and ability to perform under pressure, in incredible Professional Assignments, from TV special FX to the Metaverse. Global beauty campaigns to social media lives plus creating drag looks and also preparing celebs make-up for a huge red carpet event.

At Glow Up Studios these skilled artists will push their creativity and technical abilities to the limit as they strive to impress the judges, the legendary Val Garland and Dominic Skinner. The two who fail to impress, go head-to-head in a Face Off, where they fight to escape elimination. After 8 weeks, the last make-up artist (MUA) standing wins a contract assisting some of the world’s top make-artists and is crowned Britain’s Next Make-up Star. It's a high-stakes competition that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!

There will also be special guests including Drag Race UK Queens (Cheddar Gorgeous, Black Peppa, Victoria Scone), Dame Dave Lynn, Jack Oliver from Series 4, Zara McDermott, Talia Storm, Daisy Maskell, Yinka Bokinni and Hrush Achemyan. Series five will take the battle of the brushes to a whole other level with real-world professional assignments as the MUAs will work on the set of Bridgerton, work with retail make up giant Sephora, assist on the TV set of BBC comedy hit Ghosts, take part in a charity campaign with Mac and Viva Glam, create looks for the Metaverse Fashion Week, do the make-up for celebrities attending The BRIT Awards and present a live masterclass to industry heavyweights and celebrities at Harvey Nichols.

Glow Up launches on Tuesday 2 May at 6am on BBC iPlayer and 8pm on BBC Three.
