US: Lainey Wilson, Carly Pearce, and Jason Aldean win big at 57th ACM Awards

Following two years of socially distanced and pre-recorded shows, the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards returned to its longtime home in Las Vegas, in front of a live audience at Allegiant Stadium, on March 7 with a host of BMG artists and songwriters being honored and performing throughout the evening. Dubbed the concert event of the year, the ACM’s made history as the first major awards show to live stream exclusively, streaming live on Prime Video in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

The awards were co-hosted by BBR Music Group recording artist and reigning ACM New Male Artist of the Year Jimmie Allen. Allen kicked off the evening events performing a rousing version of ‘Viva Las Vegas’, alongside a duet with co-host Gabby Barrett, before the debut performance of his new single ‘Down Home’ later in the evening.

Recently crowned this year’s ACM New Female Artist of the Year, announced prior to the awards show, BBR recording artist Lainey Wilson performed her hit single ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’, following her second win of the evening for Song of the Year – a double award as both the performing artist and songwriter. The Gold-certified song from her critically acclaimed label debut album Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ reached the top of the Country Airplay chart in 2021, becoming Wilson’s first Number One single.

BMG songwriter Carly Pearce was a two-time winner on the night taking home one of the night’s biggest honors Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year award for ‘Never Wanted to Be That Girl’, written and performed by Pearce and Ashley McBryde. The song is the second single off Pearce’s critically acclaimed third album 29: Written In Stone.

BBR recording artist Jason Aldean, a triple ACM nominee, won Single of the Year for his chart-topping duet with Carrie Underwood ‘If I Didn’t Love You’. Aldean served as both an awards presenter and performed his Number One hit with Underwood.

BBR recording artists Parmalee and Blanco Brown also performed their chart-topping hit single ‘Just the Way’ with labelmate Brooke Eden.

First held in 1966, the Academy of Country Music Awards has honored and showcased the biggest names and emerging talent in the industry and is the longest-running country music awards show in history.
