Jack Black kickstarts CBeebies Bedtime Stories’ Easter weekend line-upGet ready for a bedtime bonanza this bank holiday with new stories from Jack Black, Joanne Froggatt, Justin Fletcher and Tom HardyOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY CBeebies CBeebies Bedtime Stories will be making sure that you and your little ones can’t wait for bedtime over the bank holiday weekend, with a stellar line-up of readers featuring Jack Black, Joanne Froggatt, Justin Fletcher and Tom Hardy. Kung Fu Panda star, Jack Black, leads the Easter weekend fun on Friday 29 April with a brilliant reading of ‘Pom Pom is Super’ written by Sophy Henn. It tells the story of Pom Pom the panda, who is excited to have his friends come round to play. When they arrive in superhero costumes, Pom Pom thinks he would like to be super too – but he’s not quite sure what he’s super at! With the help of his friends, he soon finds his talents. Downton Abbey actress, Joanne Froggatt, will then read ‘Like a Girl’ by Lori Degman and illustrated by Mara Penny on the Saturday. The story follows 24 women who took risks, broke barriers and transformed the world – from civil rights activist, Rosa Parks to astronaut, Sally Ride. CBeebies legend, Justin Fletcher, has a bunny-tastic adventure in store for audiences on Easter Sunday (31 March), with a hilarious reading of ‘Bunnies In A Boat’ by Philip Ardagh and illustrated by Ben Mantle. Then rounding off the weekend, Tom Hardy returns to Bedtime Stories on Monday 1 April reading ‘I am a Tiger’ written by Karl Newson and illustrated by Ross Collins. A cheeky tale for April Fools’ day, it tells the story of a little mouse with a big attitude, who tries to convince his friends he’s a tiger. CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on each weekday at 6.50pm on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer. Hundreds of archived episodes by global stars including Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, Sir Elton John, Chris Hemsworth, Jason Momoa, Gerri Halliwell, Gregory Porter and Dave Grohl are also now available as part of the newly launched CBeebies Bedtime Stories library on BBC iPlayer. Joanne Froggatt says: “Storytelling has always been my passion and I couldn’t be more excited to be reading for CBeebies Bedtime Stories.
