Tech entrepreneur and Global Hack Community member Erykah Badu
discusses her newest venture into the tech space, highlighting the “gamification” of her Quarantine Concert Series: The Apocalypse as proof of concept with more than 100,000 streams in her first two episodes.

Badu’s ambitious Quarantine Concert Series: The Apocalypse was announced within days of the COVID-19 pandemic state-wide stay-at-home orders. The series marries technology with Badu’s creative vision to give users an unmatched, first-of-its kind, intimate steaming experience that maintains the integrity of her live shows. It sets a high bar for major production companies by creating interactive experiences between musicians and their fans.

By giving viewers a choice to design their own experience, Badu offers fans direct access that doesn’t exist on any live music streaming platform to date. She is the architect of an innovative idea that fuses the music business with groundbreaking technology thus creating a new opportunity for artists to generate and control their own income in spite of cancelled tours.

Badu gears up for the release of her third streamed concert experience next Sunday, April 19, 2020 AC (After Corona) at 8:00pm EST/ 7:00pm CST on her platform, under the URL

After a string of concert cancellations due to the Coronavirus, Badu looked into the faces of her musicians, singers, production technicians and crew whose income would otherwise cease, and decided the show must go on!

She masterminded Quarantine Concert Series: The Apocalypse as a way to support what she describes as the “ecosystem that helps her grow.” The individuals that help bring her visions to life, especially during the tour season where they earn the majority of their income.

“All at once, it was like everything stopped. Not just for me… but for the people I hire to go on the road with me,” said Badu. “Their livelihood was in my hands, and I knew I had to do something for us.”

Quarantine Concert Series: The Apocalypse is a live production that is unconventional, uncomfortable, and unbothered with its raw and edgy vibe that lets viewers be hands-on with the production and gives unedited access to Erykah Badu’s reality as the show broadcasts live! Why be bored at home when you can take a trip into a parallel universe and adventure with “Apocalypse” to make your quarantine a little less… confining.
