JUTES RELEASES HARD-HITTING SOPHOMORE EP 'A REALLY BAD DREAM'OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Capitol Music Group Los Angeles’ Jutes spills his guts and opens his heart on his hard-hitting sophomore EP, A Really Bad Dream, out today on Capitol Records. Listen BELOW. The seven-song set sees the chameleonic artist tackling tough love, sweet romance, and a ’90s classic with his singular blend of booming trap-pop and aching pop-punk. The EP kicks off with “Bad Dream,” a woozy banger that imagines unrequited love as the worst type of nightmare. Jutes is candid and confident, spitting over the steely production of longtime collaborator Tarro (whose recent credits include the Tinashe and 6LACK “Touch & Go” remix). This lovelorn theme continues with the casually devastating “Movie,” where a slick, buoyant guitar line underpins barbs like, “I’m so over you because you’re so basic.” Soon enough though, Jutes lets that tough shell crack. He brings back Tarro for “Backseat (Kiss Me),” which spins Sixpence None the Richer’s iconic alternative hit “Kiss Me” into an apocalyptic love story. “We might never get the chance to live again, looks like the world is ending, so kiss me,” he sings through pummeling bass. “Say It First” is another dizzying tearjerker, soaked in throbbing electronics, while the anthemic closer “When You’re Around” manages to turn a cheeky nod to Sugar Ray into an intimate pop moment. Jutes makes it clear throughout the EP that he’s a hopeless romantic trying to find his way through the world. Now settled in Los Angeles, the small-town Canadian has been building up a steady following since his 2016 independent breakout “Cocaine Cinderella.” In the process, he’s earned love from outlets like AltPress, Apple Music’s Beats1, and Flaunt, and a number of high-profile spots on Spotify’s prestigious New Music Friday playlist. Jutes released his debut EP, Overrated, in March and he’s since surpassed over 20 million streams worldwide. Electric and emotional, A Really Bad Dream is another exciting milestone in an eventful year. AboutAbout Jutes:
