February 1, 2022 (Maryland, USA) – Today, ASCAP Songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Mark Digital returns with a brand-new double LP entitled “Reflections of Reason”, available everywhere now via Malibu Records/ Casanova Records. The LP is a journey into the past, present, and future. The double album represents where his journey started and the places he’s visited in-between, with cuts ranging from progressive and deep house, to progressive trance and psytrance, drum and bass, techno, and tech house.

The past is represented by tracks that have been sitting as never yet released works that he is just now bringing to light. Tracks like “Outer Rim”, “Altair”, and “Lithium” are closer to the current style he is known to bring, and the mighty “Thanos” delves into the psychedelic sounds of psytrance. The title track is an uplifting progressive trance anthem that evokes strong memories of times gone by. And sometimes we must reflect on the past to see what the future may hold.

Casanova Records: What can fans expect from your forthcoming album Reflections of Reason?

Mark Digital: “Reflections of Reason” is an eclectic mix of a wide spectrum of electronic music including over 2 albums worth of material. There are my signature progressive trance type tunes on their (Outer Rim and Lithium), melodic progressive house (Summer), Psytrance (Thanos), some deep and tech house cuts (Darkest Secret and Sour Diesel), dark techno (the People) and also a vocal electro pop tune (Our Father). So, the album should have something for everyone across 22 tracks!

Casanova Records: What were your biggest influences coming up Mark Digital?

Mark Digital: I got into progressive trance music later in my musical career, after having played mostly in rock bands. My biggest influences for music include a lot of thrash and death metal, as well as pop music, rock and alternative, and of course trance and EDM. I’ve always been a fan of music in general, but what got me into trance and electronic music was Martin Garrix’s Animals track. I was just flipping through YouTube videos and came across how he made that track and it opened up doors to me since before then I was always in rock bands and didn’t realize that powerful software existed to make music right from a home studio. So, I downloaded Ableton and started on my journey. I’d have to say this was back in 2015, and didn’t start releasing music on labels until 2017. Also, in those days, I was really into Above and Beyond’s radio program called “Group Therapy” and really liked artists like Oliver Smith, Jaytech, Ilan Bluestone, and Sunny Lax. Then I started listening to other radio programs from trance artists like Solarstone’s “Pure Trance”, Kyau and Alberts “Euphonic Session”, Paul Van Dyk “Vonyc Sessions” and Cosmic Gates “Wake Your Mind”. Those are my go-to programs that showcase a lot great progressive trance music, so if you haven’t heard of these shows go check them out!

Casanova Records: At what point did you realize this music thing was for real?

Mark Digital: I started realizing that I had a talent for making music after my track “Atomic Clock” got picked up on Spotify’s Happy Beats and Night Rider playlist, and now has over 1.5M streams, and then 4 other tracks got picked up on Night Rider on Spotify and started generating some nice royalties. Obviously not enough to make a living on, but rewarding nevertheless since I know that people listen to my tunes and save them and add them to their playlists. That is a really great feeling as an artist to reach fans who genuinely get what I’m doing and enjoy the melodies and rhythms that I create. My biggest dream is to create a classic track that will be remembered throughout the ages, something that people all over the world listen to that stands the test of time. Probably every producer’s dream!

Casanova Records: What can we expect from Mark Digital in 2022?

Mark Digital: 2022 is going to be full of new music, and right now I have releases out through November 2022. I am constantly creating and try to produce as much music as possible and keep my creativity going. I think that the more I work the more the ideas seem to flow and I am able to convey my artistic ideas through my music, and I hope the fans feel that I put my emotions into my productions and leave a little bit of myself in there so when they hear a Mark Digital track, they get a sense of who I am and what I was experiencing when I was creating that particular piece of music. As far as collaborations go, I can’t really say but there is a huge collab coming out in the future but I can’t announce it yet, so I’ll just leave it at that!

Casanova Records: Anything else you want to let us or fans know?

Mark Digital: My alter-ego is known as Relaxing State, and under this alias I create relaxing downtempo electronic music for meditation, relaxation, sleep, and peace. I started this side project during the lock down period of Covid-19 and actually really enjoy the peace and serenity of producing ambient music.
