Conor Maynard hoping to move away from 'British Justin Bieber' tag

Conor Maynard says he is trying to "mould" himself as an artist with his second album.

The singer released his first album 'Contrast' in 2012 and his YouTube roots landed him with a 'British Justin Bieber' label.

The Brighton man is currently working on the follow-up record and he told Digital Spy that he is maturing as a musician.

Maynard said: "I was 19 when I released the first album and now I'm 22.

"So I wanted to reinvent what I was for. With the first album it was, 'Oh you're the British Justin Bieber, how does it feel?' It was like, 'OK, cool', so it was obviously taking that and thinking, 'Right, I need to really mould what I want to be as an artist'."

He added that Timbaland and Craig David have been working with him on the record.
