As co-founder of the New England Music Hall of Fame, I am proud to announce the Legendary frontman, harmonica player, and Rhode Island native James Montgomery will be inducted into the New England Music Hall of Fame Class of 2021. The event will be Sept 3rd, 2021 at Bridge Street Live in Collinsville, Ct with fellow NEMHOF alum SNL lead singer Beehive Queen Christine Ohlman, Cliff Goodwin (Joe Cocker), and their band Rebel Montez.

Montgomery originally from Detroit Michigan, has toured and performed with many artists, including Aerosmith, The J. Geils Band, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Brothers, The Steve Miller Band, Johnny Winter, B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells, James Cotton, Charlie Daniels, Gregg Allman, Patti LaBelle, Billy Squier, Huey Lewis, “The Rolling Stone’s”, Joe Cocker and countless other artists.

James helped preserve the blues when he had his radio show "Backstage with the Blues" which aired on WJZS, WADK, WFNX, and KUSH 1600, Cushing, Oklahoma. Montgomery is also a member of the legendary Shaboo All-Star Band.

Each inductee receives the Wailer Award. The award represents NEMHOF’s mission which is to “Unite, Educate, Promote and Preserve” the integrity of New England’s music history and the people who are in it www.nemhof.com

He will be joining the 2021 class which includes Muddy Waters, James Cotton, Duke Robillard, Emmy Award-winning Brian Keane, John Cafferty, Vic Steffens, Michael Antunes, and Grammy Award-Winning Paula Cole. New England Music Hall of Fame recently recognized The Kate as a cultural landmark. Café 9, The Knickerbocker Music Center, and The Mohegan Sun Casino will be inducted as historical landmarks. These inductees will be honored at a later date.
