Ed Sheeran: 'Sam Smith is going to do really well at the GRAMMYs'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that Sam Smith is likely to be the big winner at the upcoming GRAMMY Awards, which will take place in Los Angeles on February 8.

Speaking to Britain's The Sun newspaper, the 'Thinking Out Loud' star explained that Smith has an amazing talent that will undoubtedly be celebrated at the ceremony: "I think Sam will win a large amount of (GRAMMYs). I don't think he's (going to) walk away with nothing..."

Sheeran is nominated for three prizes, but doesn't expect to win anything and added: "All artists say this I know, but I'm not too fussed about winning - just because I probably won't. I never win anything!"

Back in December, Sheeran praised Smith and told Digital Spy that his success has shown that the music industry is still alive and well: "I think it still shows that records are still being sold so the music industry isn't dead, because Sam's sold a lot of records and is a new artist. It basically proves that the music industry isn't dead and good music is still being born, and that good music will always rise to the top. As long as it's a good song it will be a hit."
