Ella Henderson and Ed Sheeran top list of UK's most popular summer songs

Ella Henderson and Ed Sheeran have come out trumps in a list of the UK's top songs of the summer.

The Official Charts Company today (September 4) released their sales data from over the summer months.

They confirmed that Henderson's debut single 'Ghost' sold 578,000 copies between June and August, making it the most popular track of the season.

The tune is followed by Ed Sheeran's 'Sing', whilst Magic!'s 'Rude' is No.3 with sales of 336,000.

No.4 on the list is George Ezra's 'Budapest' (328,000) whilst Ariana Grande's 'Problem' was fifth.

Speaking about the news, Henderson commented: "I am completely overwhelmed by the success of 'Ghost'! To have one of the biggest selling songs of the year is absolutely insane. It doesn't feel real. I can't thank everyone enough for all the support. Thank you!"
