Emeli Sandé says her BRITs win "means the world"

Emeli Sandé has spoken out about winning the 2012 Critics' Choice Brit Award

The fantastic news was only announced yesterday, December 15, but she has already opened up about being the latest recipient of the coveted award to Capital FM.

She explained that it's an incredible honour to be recognised for a title that has previously been held by Jessie J, Adele, Ellie Goulding and Florence and the Machine:

"It means so much. I remember last year I was actually at the BRITs and I saw Jessie pick up her award and I saw Adele performing. To be part of that group – such incredible musicians – really means the world to be honest."

She has also been confirmed to perform at the 2012 Nominations Announcement event on January 12 and the BRITs themselves are due to take place on February 21 at the O2 Arena in London.
