(June 3, 2021 - Los Angeles, CA) – Last Friday, multi-platinum pop star Zara Larsson joined forces with Roblox (NYSE: RBLX), a global platform bringing millions of people together through shared experiences, to host her first Launch Party—designed by Roblox developer MELON—to celebrate the release of her new album Poster Girl Summer Edition.
Together, they made history!
The Launch Party drew 3.8 million-plus total visits and 1.6 million-plus unique users to date and took place in Zara’s fabulous Swedish lake house designed by MELON. She performed “Poster Girl,” “Lush Life,” “FFF,” “Never Forget You,” and more for the global Roblox online audience. Forbes, The BBC, and Music Business Worldwide covered the proceedings as well.
“As with every one of her performances, Zara was electrifying in the Roblox world,” said Sylvia Rhone, CEO & Chairman of Epic Records. “The Launch Party integrated music, gaming, and community in unprecedented fashion and created an impactful paradigm validated by the unbelievable increase in Zara’s streaming and social impact. We look forward to collaborating with Roblox and MELON again in the near future to make history again.”
“The Epic team really pushed the limits of creativity on Roblox with the creation of Zara’s magical pink wonderland. We are delighted that we were able to help them bring together millions of Zara fans from around the world to play together and be immersed in her music,” said Jon Vlassopulos, VP, Global head of music for Roblox.
“I had so much fun performing for all my fans on Roblox. It is amazing to be able to reach so many of my fans and I hope everyone enjoyed the show.” said Zara Larsson.
She also linked up with YouTube creator, Flamingo (9.16 million subscribers), to record a Roblox gameplay and interview together. The ensuing video has racked up 2.3 million-plus views and counting.
To present the full picture of her latest album Poster Girl, she just added six new tracks with Summer Edition. These include originals such as the R&B-pop bop “Morning” and the nostalgically breezy “Last Summer” in addition to an acoustic piano-laden version of the hit “I Need Love” now featuring First Aid Kit. She also brings cinematic energy to Orchestral Versions of the gold smash “Ruin My Life” and “Never Forget You.” Then, there’s the Alok Remix of “Right Here.” Brazilian phenomenon Alok transports “Right Here” into the center of the dance floor with pulsating four-on-the-floor production, high energy bass, and warm synths. It has all the makings of a summer festival favorite…
Tracks from Poster Girl have amassed 600 million-plus streams on Spotify alone in addition to posting up north of 100 million views on YouTube. This summer is Zara Larsson season…
