The Famous Company connecting with the world at MIDEM

Last weekend, The Famous Company directors Ben Rees & Matt Allen joined over 4000 other visitors for the 50th annual MIDEM in Cannes, France. As one of the worlds leading music industry conferences, MIDEM brings together music industry professionals from across the globe to network, showcase, educate and celebrate the music business.

With 85 countries represented at MIDEM, The Famous Company had an opportunity to showcase it’s unique platform for unsigned artists helping them to get further in the music industry, no matter where they are in the world.

Highlights of the 4 day event included a keynote speech from Warner/Chappell Music CEO Jon Platt, ‘Midemlad’ – the innovative start-ups competition previously won by Soundcloud, outdoor concert style performances from international artists including Club Chevel and Synapson and a spectacular firework display which lit up Cannes.

Representing the UK alongside major players including Metropolis and Notting Hill Publishing, The Famous Company used MIDEM to secure exciting collaborations and new partnerships with a number of British companies.

Director Ben Rees said, “This weekend has been a fantastic opportunity for us to discuss future industry trends. We have met representatives from all the major players from both UK and international companies & we’re excited to start building on these relationships.”

Dates for the 51st MIDEM are expected to be announced shortly, and The Famous Company are looking forward to returning to Cannes in 2017.
