Fifth Harmony have opened up on the advice they received from Harry Styles.

The group and the singer's band One Direction are both associated with Simon Cowell due to their X Factor origins.

Speaking to news.com.au, the US girl band said that Styles told them to make sure they're always supportive of each other.

Dinah-Jane Hansen said: "Harry came up and told me he knows how it is to be in a group and his advice was to be each other’s best friend, to be there for each other."

Fifth Harmony meanwhile released their debut album 'Reflection' in the US in February.
