Fifth Harmony's Lauren: 'I never thought I'd be in a girlband'

Girl group Fifth Harmony have enjoyed great success since being put together on 'X Factor USA' in 2012, but songstress Lauren Jauregui has confessed that she never set out to be a band member.

Speaking to Sugarscape, the raven-haired beauty explained that she wanted to be a solo star and always thought her voice was more suited to that style

"I honestly never thought I'd be put into a girlband. I definitely went into 'X Factor' with the intention of being a solo artist; all five of us can say that. I'd never thought about being in a girl group just because I never thought my style of music went with that."

The beauty went onto add that people auditioning for a vocal talent show need to just be confident and give their all to their initial performance because that one shot is so important: "Make sure you own it, you love it and that you're confident in it. That's what they're looking for; someone that can deliver that because that's what a star is."
