Cher Lloyd Sells A Million Copies Of Debut US Single

Cher Lloyd has sold an incredible million copies of her debut US single 'Want U Back'.

The track was released as a download two months ago and has today passed the million sales mark. It entered the Top 10 on US iTunes last month and has not left since.

These amazing sales follow Cher's radio tour of the USA, which has seen the singer travel across the country, winning new fans wherever she has gone.

Cher says: "It's so amazing 'Want U Back' has sold one million copies in America. My Brats rock, thank you!"

Chairman and CEO of Epic Records LA Reid says: “I’m very excited about the progress of Cher’s success. This is only the beginning!”

Cher is currently putting the finishing touches to her highly anticipated US debut album Sticks & Stones, which now has a new confirmed release date of October 2nd. The American version of Sticks & Stones, released via Syco/Epic Records, will vary slightly from the 2011 UK version. The US album includes never-before-heard songs, as well as a few surprise guests including Snoop Dogg who features on the album version of 'Want U Back'.

Cher will make her second major US TV appearance on the Today Show August 30th.  Her first was on America’s Got Talent last month, leading Perez Hilton to hail Cher’s 'insane talent, gorgeous voice. The New York Times has dubbed Cher 'The Future', US MTV named her 'One To Watch', whilst Billboard Magazine called her 'Next To Ring Up The Chart' with 'one of the summer's most inescapable songs'.

Cher is winning over US fans by the masses, as proven by her afternoon of fan-packed mayhem during a recent visit to West Hollywood’s Millions of Milkshakes. Police had to intervene as several thousand of Cher’s beloved “Brats” mobbed the streets for a glimpse of her.
