Tich's debut video 'Dumb'The debut single released 22nd April 2013 With her first single ‘Dumb’, Tich shows why she’s already drawn praise and admiration from some of the biggest names in pop. She’s written with Nick Jonas and been personally invited to tour with Olly Murs, while One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuinness have encouraged their fans to check her out after witnessing her DIY YouTube performances of their songs. Co-written by Tich with Mushtaq (Amy Winehouse, Mis-Teeq) and Nick Atkinson (Gabrielle Aplin, Rooster), ‘Dumb’ will strike a chord with anyone who’s ever let heart rule over head. Written about an ill-advised breakup that Tich initiated, the song’s hook originated while she was pacing around her garden admonishing herself. “The next day I went into the studio and said ‘whoops, I have been so dumb’ – so that went into the chorus!” While the lyrics are reflective, the music itself – with Tich playing piano and keys – is upbeat and cheerful with a modern production sheen, the sweet and sour sides of Tich shining through at all times simultaneously. “It's really fun. I never want to take life too seriously.” An obsessive student of pop music in all its forms and stages, Tich draws influence from the likes of Max Martin in her writing and arrangements – “I think his style of writing is something I’m in awe of.” Only 19 now, Tich has toured since she was 13, and had a publishing deal since she was 16. She’s supported the likes of JLS, Little Mix, James Arthur and Stooshe. Maintaining an almost constant, two-way dialogue on Twitter, Skype and Facebook with her fans, ‘Dumb’ is a long-awaited release for Tich’s already sizeable fanbase With a debut album due later in the year, Tich is currently on tour opening for Olly Murs.
