Jay-Z has spoken out about his excitement at playing a gig alongside Coldplay on New Years Eve, saying that Chris Martin is his "brother from another mother".

The two acts will perform separate sets in Las Vegas' new Cosmopolitan Casino and Resort, but they are also expected to join up for a live collaboration during the night. 

In an interview with Radio 1's Newsbeat, the '99 Problems' music mogul said that Coldplay's Martin is:

"one of the geniuses of our generation."

"Any time you can collaborate with that sort of genius, you jump at the chance, I don't care who you are."
