Following on from the success of the initial ‘No More’ release which has thus far gained over 100,000 streams, a top 40 chart placement on iTunes, JunoDownload number one and support from many UK celebrities and sport stars. Applique Music is continuing in our mission to spread awareness of the dangers of heart disease by releasing a remix package the charity single by label founder, Lempo.

A Grammy-shortlisted DJ, producer and writer, Lempo’s music career began in 2006 with residencies at Manchester’s now legendary Sankeys and Venus nightclubs. His success has seen him perform for global club brands including Ministry of Sound, Cream and The Warehouse Project. As a producer Lempo has remixed artists such as Snoop Dogg and General Levy, as well as releasing original music with prestigious New York labels, Strictly Rhythm and Todd Terry’s InHouse Records.

Lempo underwent an emergency operation in 2018 to correct a heart condition that could have otherwise killed him within six months. A key feature on the original mix of ‘No More’ is Lempo’s use of samples. Using his iphone, he recorded the sound of the heart rate monitor before his surgery at the Royal Stoke University hospital, and his own heart beat after the operation using a stethoscope app. All proceeds from the single and now the remix package will go to the charity to help fund cardiovascular research in the UK.

A cliché that's overused, but in this case rains true, there’s something for everyone...

The first remix comes from ‘SupaEarth Records’ chief boogie man, Ruff Diamond, more recently famed for his disco house and funk productions. He takes ‘No More’ deep into the vault to bring out this classy rendition in-line with his previous work for artists such as Beyonce, Estelle, Teedra Moses and Che'Nelle. Originating from Manchester, UK, Ruff Diamond has built up a rich history of production, song-writing and remixing credits, clocking up multi-millions of worldwide record sales in the process. He has released work on virtually all the major labels and many prestigious independents. Renowned for his exceptionally soulful 'magical touch', and for consistently bringing out the best qualities in any record he works with, his take on ‘No More’ is no exception to this rule – he has delivered a beautiful, passionate slow-jam that wouldn’t be out of place in a blockbuster movie’s key love scene, with epic strings and beat programming to rival the likes of Dr.Dre and Timbaland, the vibes are on-point and ideal for any chillout session.

Next up is man like Toni Toolz, the London based ‘Big Mix Up Records’ boss man who has produced music under many pseudonyms during his 20 years in the music industry, with production credits including gold and platinum selling singles & albums. If you have ever been near a pair of decks for any length of time, then the chances are that you've heard a track Toni Toolz had a hand in. Toni has previously remixed superstar artists such as Destiny's Child, Pharrell Williams, Beenie Man, Kelis and Moby on labels including Columbia, EMI and Virgin. For his remix of ‘No more’ Toni has created a deep, underground dub that comfortably slides into any house DJ’s record box. Subtle vocal work, his signature rolling percussion and a synth lead that will leave you no choice but descend upon the dancefloor.

The third and final remix comes in the form of the masterful Will Darling, hailing from the Isle of Wight, the ‘EDMtips’ founder and one half of The Visionaires, has been operating as Applique Music’s mastering engineer for many years. His decades of experience making music and performing as a DJ all around the world, now being passed on to the next generation of music producers through his subscription service. Will’s remix is a straight-up contemporary club mix with thumping percussion, jacking vocal work, a delicious piano hook and a cheeky saxophone line.

The vocalist on ‘No More’, Victoria-Jane, explains, "My father underwent mechanical aortic valve replacement in 2012 and is due to have another procedure. I’d wanted to work with Lempo for years, so once he approached me I jumped at the opportunity. Knowing we are raising awareness about something so close to my heart means everything to me.”

Leah Goodhind, Fundraising Manager for the British Heart Foundation, says, "We never cease to be amazed by the extraordinary ways people like Lempo fundraise for the BHF and we're incredibly grateful to them for their efforts. Our supporters like Mike power our research, and this means we can ultimately go on to help save thousands of lives."

Lempo adds, “How we react in the face of adversity is paramount. Take a bad experience and use it for good. That’s the plan; to use my skills, knowledge and contacts to make a difference for others facing similar complications.”

‘No More’ Remixes will be available on all major download stores and streaming networks from 5th April 2019. Show your support using #NoMoreHeartbreak through social media channels.
