Louis Tomlinson Thanks the “True heroes” During the Pandemic

Louis Tomlinson has reminded us today who the "true heroes" are during this unsettling time of the ongoing global coronavirus crisis.

The pop star took to Twitter earlier today to write: "What an incredibly special moment last night.

"So much love and respect for every worker at the NHS and every care worker. True heroes."

Tomlinson was referring to the #ClapforNHS campaign that took place across the whole of the UK last night at 8:00pm GMT / 4:00pm ET.

The campaign saw an emotional British public - currently in self-isolation - clapping and cheering to acknowledge, show gratitude and spread love and encouragement to those on the frontline.

Fontline workers include doctors, nurses, GPs, pharmacists, carers, ambulance services, volunteers and other NHS staff working tirelessly to help those affected by COVID-19, risking their own lives whilst doing so.

The UK coronavirus death toll has risen today by 181 to 759, the sharpest increase so far.

The 28-year-old has always shown his support and admiration for the NHS. He regularly visits hospitals and hospices, as well as donating generously to those who urgently need medical support.

In 2018, Tomlinson presented one of The NHS Heroes Awards to Manchester Arena survivor, Freya Lewis [see below].
