INTRODUCING POP’S BRIGHTEST NEWCOMER EMiDORA“twenny one (happy birthday)”OUT NOWOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Morena EMiDORA announces single ‘twenny one (happy birthday)’ a dream pop-infused dance classic ready to hit the spring-summer season, available for streaming now! The track serves as an exploration of EMiDORAs age, turning ‘twenny one’ is a blessing and a curse. Feeling like she should have it all together by now, EMiDORA finds herself doubting her life’s biggest dreams, The euphoric melody contrasts the sombre vocals, creating a striking juxtaposition. Bright drum loops throughout give the track life, creating a spaced-out dreamlike anthem to bop along to. EMiDORA Shares: “The night before my 21st birthday I was panicking because I felt like my life was just moving away from me and I couldn’t do anything about it. When I was younger I had such huge dreams for where I would be at 21. Seeing people so much younger than me having the success I thought I would have by now, made me spiral so I wrote ‘twenny one’. I thought you have to make it when you’re young in the music industry and 21 felt like the cut-off… now looking back, I know it wasn’t!” AboutGrowing up, EMiDORA was bombarded with her parents’ chaotic music tastes, ranging from Mozart to Destiny’s Child and Jack Johnson to Arctic Monkeys. At age 7 it was clear EMiDORA was musically gifted - she began playing the violin, shortly followed by the clarinet. However, the struggle with communicating her emotions overshadowed her childhood and she immersed herself in internet culture as a form of escapism. Making her way through her teenage years against a backdrop of Troye Sivan, Halsey and Years & Years, EMiDORA’s style began to take shape as an amalgamation of pop-punk, alternative, and RnB vocal melodies against electronic instrumentals. Her vocals have permeated the East Midlands music scene, with collaborations landing her in the top 30 most-played artists of BBC Introducing in the East Midlands in 2021 and 2023. She has played several BBC Introducing Stages, been featured on BBC Radio 1 and has played multiple festivals across the East Midlands including Y Not Festival and Splendour Fest. for more information please contact rosanna@morena.uk
