OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

An ISP in Australia had the biggest gain for the month of February on the Netflix ISP Speed Index, our monthly update on which ISPs provide the best primetime Netflix streaming experience.

MyRepublic NBN rose 0.4 Megabit per second (Mbps) to 3.6 Mbps after posting an increase of 0.2 Mbps to 3.2 Mbps the month prior.

Four ISPs saw decreases of 0.2 Mbps last month, two of which were in Japan. Asahi Net fell to 3.2 Mbps, while VECTANT fell to 2.6. Paraguay’s Copaco and Pakistan’s Fiberlink both dropped to 1.8 Mbps.

The Netherlands soared last month after registering the highest average speed at 3.8 Mbps, an improvement of 0.2 Mbps from January. Three countries also saw improvements of 0.2 Mbps. El Salvador jumped to 3.2 Mbps, while South Africa and Colombia both rose to 3.4 Mbps.

The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of primetime Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services/data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions. We also created a separate tool to check your current download performance: visit https://FAST.com on any internet browser or download the FAST Speed Test iOS or Android app.
