Alex James debuts his highly-touted R&B, synth single ‘My Imagination’. Written during lockdown, while separated from his girlfriend, the song ruminates on love, loneliness and missing those you love. The track came to life while Alex imagined being able to spend time with her, while in a smoky room. The track features dark, sweeping synths, spacey vocals and punching beats that draw inspiration from Always Never, The Weeknd and Aaryan Shah.

Based in Argentina, James graduated from ACM Guildford in 2018. Learning about music production from university housemates, he started gaining experience with live shows and collaboration whilst still a student. Performing spots at London venues like The Social, The Bedford, The Star and Boileroom in Guildford, James is well-versed in the world of live music.

Now living in Argentina, with his girlfriend, ‘My Imagination’ ruminates on the year they spent apart due to lockdowns and Covid-19. Synth-led, the single is an imaginative play on various R&B sensibilities. With inspirations from The Weeknd to Always Never, the single is painfully romantic, his emotional, plaintive lyrics ringing true to any listener separated from a loved one.
