The Venerable is a songwriting project that features various musicians across their catalogue. Based out of Houston Texas, the project focuses on lyrically based songwriting that often tows the line between contemporary Pop and Rock.

Their latest single ‘A Place 4 Me’ is no different, the track is a bittersweet single about finding your place in the world and looking for a fresh start after a love that never materialises. Backed by soft piano lines and acoustic guitar riffs that crescendos into an anthemic chorus packed with relatable lyrics that carry an optimistic tone.

Speaking further on the track The Venerable’s frontman and band leader Matt Barrett says “To me it's just about hope, that you can get out of a situation that isn't working for you and start over new.”

The Venerable are influenced by a wide variety of music ranging from Led Zeppelin and Billy Joel to Counting Crows, Matchbox 20 and The Goo Goo Dolls, as well as more modern acts like Imagine Dragons, Borns, Blue October, and Andrew McMahon. Having previously released their debut single ‘You’re So Original’ in the summer of 2023, The Venerable plans to release a new song every month or two into 2024 in preparation for the release of their debut album.
