Singer/Songwriter OneNess Sankara to release her debut single, A Colon & A Bracket (Dat Facebook Song) on Friday 18th November during a live showcase event at Notting Hill’s Tabernacle.

A Colon & A Bracket (Dat Facebook Song) is a fun and catchy take on one girl’s addiction to Social Networking and touches on the modern trend of cyber life versus nature and being caught between worlds. Plagued by technology, OneNess draws on a topic that most can relate to, be it stalking others, taking photographs with your Facebook profile in mind and not forgetting, the obligatory Colon and a Bracket that makes up a smiley face.

An accomplished Spoken Word Artiste and Performance Poet in her own right, OneNess is also one fourth of poetry collective, Best Kept Secret (BKS) and has performed at a host of celebrated venues and coveted events, including BBC Radio, Glastonbury Festival, The Jazz Café and The Royal Festival Hall.

Background Information

OneNess Sankara is a Singer, Poet, Songwriter and Actress.

Her work has taken her from BBC Radio, Sky TV and Glastonbury Festival to London venues such as The Jazz Café and The Royal Festival Hall. A further testament to her achievements are the number of accolades she has received including being on of the Top Five Black Female Poets by the New Nation newspaper and the first artist outside the United States to win an award at The Toronto International Poetry Slam.

A seasoned performer, and member of poetry collective Best Kept Secret, she is a connoisseur of art and those exposed to the lyrical workings of Miss Sankara should be fully braced to see the world with new eyes. 2011 sees the release of her Debut Single ‘A Colon & A Bracket’ (Dat Facebook Song).
