Hot on the heels of their anti-authority anthem ‘Another Way’, London’s fast rising band The Horn are back with their second single of 2023 and arguably their best to date - ‘Too Many Moments’. This single brings together all the elements that have won over the band’s growing fanbase, from Jonny Taylor’s efficacious frontman vocals, to Nick True’s deft bass grooves, to Ed Cox’s spectral synth keys, to the dynamic drum playing of Alex Moorse, and the winding guitar melodies courtesy of Danny Monk. Produced by the unmatched Danton Supple (Coldplay), ‘Too Many Moments’ is a shuffling arrangement of indie, rock, synth and psychedelic textures that produce a timeless quality.

As for the song’s meaning, ‘Too Many Moments’ taps into the endless rush of life’s flow and the never-ending to-do list that somehow plagues us all. As such, this song is a cathartic release from the everyday pressure we all experience, as Nick True says:

“It’s about the madness, all the stuff good and bad that we are all engulfed in. Too much stuff around us, too many to-do’s, too much aggravation, too many people taking advantage of you, too much expected of you, too many responsibilities, too many lovers, too many big problems, too many small ones, too much fun, too many fun things to do, too many memories (good and bad), trying to hold it all together, pretending to hold it together…. I think! Or maybe its about something else.”

About

Last year, The Horn released their debut EP, Do It Now, following a string of successful singles, which won the online admiration of Notion, Atwood Magazine and Louder Than War, as well as support from wider mainstream media ITV, BT Sport and Talksport. Their rise so far has been defined by an unfiltered combination of attitude, ambition and a middle finger to authority.

Musically, The Horn’s sound can be defined as Britpop-infused indie-rock that fizzes with energy and angst. Wrapped up in the band’s hedonistic tales of London life, cautionary tales of growing up and the dismissal of being held back by rules, self-doubt or authority figures is a deeper meaning. Here, you’ll find the unique intergenerational exchange between two of the members, Nick and Jonny, who might have been born decades apart, and yet they’ve found endless common ground. It’s no secret that ageism plagues the music industry and it’s essential to The Horn’s creative output to prove that age really is just a number and to always bring the listener back to the timelessness of human experience.

The Horn is made up of bassist and songwriter, Nick True, multi-instrumentalist Danny Monk, singer and guitarist Jonny Taylor, keyboardist Ed Cox and drummer Alex Moorse.
