In his own words, Gino Black expresses:
“Today, April 5th 2023, I release one of the most personal and important pieces of work of my career. My name is Gino Black and I am a record producer and recording artist. My newest song, “SOMEDAY” is a dedication to my late grandmother. It’s the anniversary of her passing and transition to be with the Lord. As a young child over 30 years ago, we lost her to Cancer. After all these years, not a single day has gone by that I haven’t thought of her fondly. My grandmother made such an incredible impact on my life in such a short amount of time. Now, after a life filled with extreme highs and terrible lows, I find myself on a personal road of redemption. This song is a part of my testimony as a man and my growth as an artist. After many years of creating music and other content that now seems rather meaningless, I find myself reflecting an my life and all that I’ve learned. I learned a tremendous amount of life lessons from my grandmother when I was a child and I apply those same lessons to my life still. I tried to teach my children the same principles. Although I have stumbled a few times and was not always the best representation for my family, I am newly reminded by her memory that I am much better than I have displayed myself to be in the last decade. I feel that I must now do her memory justice by being the best man that I can be. She always told me to be the best at whatever I do. I must attempt to mirror her grace and remarkable presence to the world. I am her legacy. I am a changed soul who has sworn off all negativity and negligent behavior. I am also on a sober journey and have decided to live my life alcohol free. In her honor I vow to use my talents and intelligence to challenge myself with continued growth and to help others do the same. I will do this from the heart and expect nothing in return. This song is my pledge to her heavenly spirit. It is an oath to myself to continually become a better version of myself.”
