This song is the follow up to their massively successful collaboration, “ESOTERIC MEN”. Together these two artists deliver an effective and impactful song; which has a west coast vibe to it. Lyrically, this song easily sounds like something you would hear by such west coast rap legends like Ice Cube. Snoop Dogg, E-40, Dr. Dre, Xzibit, Mack 10 and Dub C. While “THE SET” is reminiscent of traditional west coast gangsta rap, one must remember that the west coast sound originally derived from the Midwest R&B music of Zapp & Roger, The Ohio Players, etc. That being said, both BLAKK NORTH and GINO BLACK are born and raised in the Midwest where this sound originated. BLAKK NORTH is a solid lyricist who’s had many independent records receiving massive streams for the last two years. GINO BLACK is a producer and artist who has an extensive catalog of his own music and music he has produced for other going back more than 20 years.
