The Manic Shine album ‘Blindsider’ released via The Animal Farm Records
First single: ‘My Woman’ release date: 26th March 2012
Ozzie Rogers (lead vocals, guitar), James Hutchison (bass), Tamir Karp (drums) and Orren Karp (guitar) The Manic Shine’s first self-released single ‘Pretend’ had backing from NME’s Jamie Theaker and BBC Introducing’s Tom Robinson. From then onwards they have gathered a plethora of fans and solid backing from Nick Mason (Pink Floyd Drummer) countless BBC DJ’s and the written media have gone ‘manic’ for them! The band have a massive following on Twitter with over 5000 followers and use their own ‘illness’ to promote it: Sickotrashmusicitis (Sic-O-Trash-Music-itis): Chronic feeling of lethargy and nausea when listening to music on mainstream radio. Known Cures: The Manic Shine. "Sounds great!" - James Theaker - NME
"I REALLY like The Manic Shine!" - Nick Mason (drummer, Pink Floyd)
“We like that song, Burn Me On The Ceiling, very much!” - Tom Robinson, BBC Introducing
"Jaw dropping...You must listen to this band, they are amazing." - The Mag.com
"The Manic Shine are some musical geniuses...It’s not every day that you come across such a fantastic new band. 5/5" - Alternative Vision
"Undeniably impressive. A blindsider through and through! 8/10"- Bring The Noise
With gigs like 02 Islington, Shepherds Bush Empire, Indigo 02, Scala, Trafalgar Square and Scottish Festivals under their belt, play listings for countless local BBC radio stations and airplay on ‘Hollyoaks’ they are well on their way! They are also not afraid to cross over genres either, with an reggae acoustic version of their track ‘Legs’ available from a simple ‘Like’ on their facebook page! This track is also available as a free download from their website: http://www.themanicshine.com/
As an example of their multi-cultured background and their diversity in different music styles and influences; on track 4 off their album ‘The Poet and the Lullaby’ the bridge comes to a cataclysmic point of lucid dance-esq noise which is mind-blowing!
