The first in a double-bill of Smartphone-shot movies, director James Smith and producer/writer Caroline Spence have joined the ranks of Sean Baker with his Sundance headliner Tangerine (shot on an Apple iPhone 5S) and Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh with Unsane (shot on an iPhone 7 Plus), by shooting Cyberlante entirely on a Google Pixel Original.
Making movies on mobile phone technology, however, is still rare since most content produced in this way comprise short films, promos and web series… not full length features.
With editing complete, completion funds are now being raised via new UK crowdfunding platform, Greenlit.
Visit the Cyberlante campaign page to learn more about the project, donate or take advantage of the rewards on offer: https://
Directed by James Smith and produced by Caroline Spence.
Starring Gavin Gordon (Surveilled), Emily Haigh (Jane Eyre), Mia Mills (Black Mirror), Mark Peachey, Domenic Tiberius Russo, John Savage (The Damned United).
With their award-winning début feature Do Something, Jake, now on general release, the team have three move films set for release in 2020.
